2024 Spring Progress Report

The first few months of 2024 flew by!

Here is a progress report as of June, 2024.

The George Pocock Rowing Foundation has provided 135 scholarships so far this year. This includes direct scholarship support for 110 athletes and administrative support for 24 additional athletes of all ages across 12 boathouses in the Pacific Northwest.

Camp Lucy hosted its 3rd Annual 26.LU Team Ergathon. The event was hugely successful, with 43 registered teams and 259 registered participants. Camp Lucy, our free 10-day rowing camp for middle school girls, will take place this summer in 3 boathouses, introducing 50 young women to rowing.

Table Captains from around the region brought a record-breaking number of attendees to our 14th Annual Row to the Future Breakfast, raising over $600,000 to help young people find, start and stay rowing.

The Concept2/GPRF ERG ED® Grant application opened for all cities in the US. This grant will bring the ERG ED® curriculum and 20 Concept2 rowing machines to two new school districts in 2024. Grantees will be announced in June.

Our nine regional boathouse grantees started working on their respective projects to introduce more young people to the sport who have been consistently underrepresented in rowing.

Thank you for making this all possible!

Below is a more detailed update on our Athlete Support and Retention (Scholarship) Program and what we’ve learned about who we’re serving.
