Camp Lucy Pilot Program Participants want camp to be longer!

With the support of our community, our inaugural 26 point LU: A Marathon of Meters event raised over $16,000 in January.

These funds enabled us to host our second Camp Lucy pilot program on February 5th and 6th and gave campers an opportunity to feel strong, powerful, supported, and brave.

We aim to make these camps scalable so that boathouses around the region can provide similar initiatives to underrepresented populations without huge costs to their programs.

Here are some quick fun facts about the camp:

We had 13 participants (all students from Seattle Girls School)

When asked what they liked most about Camp Lucy, we heard:

"Learning so many new things!!!"

"I really enjoyed rowing, eating the snacks, doing the fun activities. I also enjoyed spending time with the group and having fun with the people in the camp."

"I liked that the coaches were supportive"

And when asked what they would change about Camp Lucy, we heard:

"Make it longer!"

We're incredibly grateful to be able to host this program for middle-school girls, using rowing, workshops, mentorship, and games to build an enriching environment where young girls can learn both social-emotional and life skills.
